Solar PV is often a strong starting point because schools use electricity during daylight hours. Heat pumps may suit buildings with the right fabric and heating system, while ventilation can improve fresh-air provision in occupied classrooms. A site assessment establishes which measures are practical.

The panels continue to generate when the school is closed. Electricity that is not used on site can be exported to the grid where the connection and electricity supply arrangement allow it.

Yes. We agree access and programme requirements with the school and plan disruptive work around term dates, exams and holidays wherever possible.

Schools are eligible for the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant for solar PV, with support based on system size and a current maximum of €162,600. SEAI community funding may also support eligible school energy upgrades delivered through a qualifying community project. Funding must be approved before work starts, so we check the current route at the assessment stage.

Yes. School projects must meet the relevant Department of Education Technical Guidance Documents as well as electrical, building and grant requirements. We account for the applicable standards when surveying and designing the work.
