The cost depends on your roof, your electricity use and whether you add a battery, so we give you a fixed quote after a free survey rather than a rough figure up front. The SEAI solar grant of up to €1,800 comes straight off the price, and we handle the application for you. Most homes pair solar with a battery to use more of what they generate.
SEAI grants include up to €1,800 for solar panels and up to €6,500 for a heat pump, with a further €4,000 bonus when you replace an old oil, gas or electric heating system and up to €2,000 towards the related heating upgrades. Together those can reach up to €12,500 on a house, though the exact amount depends on your home and the work needed. MVHR ventilation is supported through the SEAI One Stop Shop route rather than as a standalone grant. EHP handles the full application on your behalf, from registration to final claim, at no extra charge.
Yes. Solar panels run on daylight rather than direct sunshine, so they still generate on the grey, overcast days Donegal knows well. Output here is only a few percent below the Irish average, and most homes still cover a large share of their daytime electricity. We size every system on your actual roof and usage, so the figures are realistic before you commit.
Air-to-water (air source) heat pumps suit most retrofits - they need only a small outdoor unit and are straightforward to install. Geothermal (ground source) systems are more efficient but require ground works, so they suit new builds or properties with land. We recommend the right type on survey.
Solar PV is typically a 1-2 day install. A heat pump with a new cylinder takes 2-3 days. MVHR ventilation in a new build takes 2-4 days. Underfloor heating timelines depend on the area and whether it is a new build or retrofit.
Yes. SEAI grants are applied first and finance can cover the remaining balance. Some customers combine both to bring the upfront cost down to a level they are comfortable with. We can talk through the options after the survey.
